Staff must not engage in public drama with members or ex-members.

Staff should avoid dragging the community into personal arguments on other platforms.

Humor and casual interaction are welcome, but moderation actions (warnings, bans) must be delivered seriously and clearly.

Use warnings as the first step whenever possible.

Escalate only if the behavior continues or is severe.

Always log warnings in staff chat, even if informal.

Temporary or permanent bans may be applied depending on severity.

Demotions may be used for staff who consistently make mistakes; not as punishment, but to protect community order.

Permanent bans must normally be discussed by the team. A majority of active staff must agree; the Owner holds veto power if necessary.

Appeals from banned members may be considered if a majority of active staff agrees.

Second chances are only granted when trust can realistically be rebuilt.

Bans remain permanent unless the staff team explicitly decides otherwise.

If a staff member makes a mistake (e.g., banning the wrong person), they must admit and correct it.

Mistakes are part of learning; repeated carelessness may lead to demotion, but honesty is always respected.

All staff discussions in the staff chat are strictly private.

No information from staff chat should be shared outside unless the Owner explicitly authorizes it, or unless context is required for clarity in a specific case.

Staff must assume that everything in staff chat is confidential until stated otherwise.

Age verification happens only in Direct Messages between the moderator and the member.

Staff must not post screenshots, copies, or sensitive verification information in the staff chat.

Verification checks should be handled respectfully and privately, with minimal required information (Date of Birth and expiration date).

Screenshots or logs of staff chat must not be shared outside of the team.

Exception: if the entire staff team agrees (e.g., sharing something funny as a meme).

Serious or harmful leaks; Such as exposing private decisions, IDs, or internal disputes; Will result in penalties, up to and including removal.

Staff are considered inactive if they show no presence in staff chat for at least 1 month.

Inactivity may be short-term (a week or two, like exams/work) or long-term (months without participation).

Whenever possible, staff should announce when they are AFK (away from keyboard).

Simply dropping a quick message in staff chat (e.g., “Busy with work for 2 weeks”) is enough.

Staff are located across multiple timezones (Brazil, USA, Portugal, UK, New Zealand, Germany).

Nobody is pressured to always be online.

Light coordination (e.g., noticing when others are asleep and covering when possible) is encouraged but not mandatory.

Staff must give at least 1 week’s notice before resigning.

This notice allows the Owner to update the staff list, website, and prepare for the transition.

They remain in staff chat.

They are not expected to perform moderation duties.

They may share final thoughts, constructive feedback, or advice before departure.

“Ghosting”: Vanishing without a word, is not permitted.

If a staff member disappears without notice, they may be marked as inactive and eventually removed.

Staff who resign may be welcomed back if trust remains intact.

Returning staff will be reintroduced through discussion in staff chat, not automatically.

Staff must not misuse their title or position in disputes outside Furry Belly Hub.

For example, saying “I’m a mod of FBH” to win arguments elsewhere is not allowed.

Public behavior on other platforms should not harm FBH’s reputation.

If a staffer is involved in drama elsewhere, they must inform the Owner, but they are not expected to take on responsibility for resolving it.

Staff have flexibility in choosing when to speak as themselves and when to speak as staff.

When moderation actions are taken, clarity matters; Members should understand when a statement is official staff action.

Staff may hold each other accountable, including the Owner.

Staff are free to respectfully call out mistakes or concerns.

Consensus is encouraged whenever possible.

In urgent situations, staff may act quickly without consensus, but should explain their action afterwards.

Warnings for staff behavior must be shared with the entire staff team, not only privately.

Demotions are automatically logged by the moderation bots, ensuring visibility and transparency.

The Owner has final authority in exceptional cases.

However, the staff team operates in a trust-based and collaborative manner, not strict hierarchy.

Staff are encouraged to give feedback openly.
